Strongsville High School & Strongsville Middle School Turf Projects
Strongsville, OH (July 1, 2016) - The Strongsville City Schools “Excellence in Athletics” Campaign received a $25,000 donation from Triv’s Restaurant and a $25,000 donation from the Strongsville Rotary Foundation to further assist in the fundraising efforts for new synthetic turf fields at Pat Catan Stadium at Strongsville High School and the new Strongsville Middle School.
Since October 2015 when the campaign kicked off, the “Excellence in Athletics” fundraising campaign has received corporate and individual donation commitments totaling over $1.6 million. Contributing organizations include Serpentini Chevrolet, Southwest General Health Center, the Pat Catan family, Progressive Poured Walls, Shoreline Trucking, GPD Group, Hammond Construction, Strongsville Chamber of Commerce, Strongsville’s Athletic Booster Club, Strongsville’s Music Booster Club, Strongsville Lacrosse, Strongsville Soccer Organization, City Club, Chick-fil-A, the MAQ Center, Strongsville administration and Board members, and Strongsville PTA.
“The recent donations from both Triv’s Restaurant and the Strongsville Rotary Foundation are two additional examples of the overwhelming community support we have received throughout this fundraising campaign. We greatly appreciate the donations from Triv’s and Strongsville Rotary and thank them for their generosity in helping make the turf projects at both Pat Catan Stadium and the new Strongsville Middle School a reality. This project will benefit our district, and most importantly our students, for years to come,” said Cameron Ryba, Strongsville City Schools Superintendent.
“The Strongsville community is a huge part as to why Triv’s has been a success for nine years. We are strong believers in giving back and this is our way of paying it forward,” said Michael Trivisonno, Jr., owner of Triv’s Restaurant.
“Our Strongsville Rotary Club and Strongsville Rotary Foundation is thrilled to be involved with the Excellence in Athletics Fundraiser for the improvement of the athletic fields. Rotary’s contribution for this project is a perfect example of why so many of our Club members participate in our own fundraising efforts, and that is to ensure that our Rotary Club continues to give back to our Strongsville Community. This includes the many students attending our school system and helping to make their educational experience the very best it can be. Strongsville Rotary’s involvement with the Strongsville City School system has been and will continue to be a highly regarded component of who we are as a Rotary Club,” said Brian Kiplinger, past President of the Strongsville Rotary Club and current Trustee and Vice President responsible for charitable requests for the Strongsville Rotary Foundation.
The natural grass at Pat Catan Stadium has been removed and the stadium surface is being prepared for the addition of synthetic turf. The new playing surface will be installed and ready for activity by the first Mustangs home football game on Friday, September 2nd. Strongsville Middle School’s field will be installed and completed this fall, as well.
